OpenStorm Framework & GPL Compliance

Nexrad Spatial is built upon and heavily expands the open-source OpenStorm Radar project, originally developed by Jordan Schlick. You can find the original OpenStorm repository here: github.com/JordanSchlick/OpenStorm.

In accordance with the GPLv2 license, the core radar ingestion, binary decoding, and processing architecture utilized within this application remain fully open-source. The source code for Nexrad Spatial can be found here: https://github.com/Trancsfict8/NEXRAD_Spatial.


USGS Mapping Data

The 3D global topological map with elevation and GIS boundaries utilizes data sets provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). We are incredibly grateful for their open data initiatives that make accurate geospatial visualization possible.
